The UNSW Rhythm Games Society is dedicated to growing a collaborative student community through organized events, tournaments, and the promotion of diverse rhythm games.
The aims and objectives of the Club are:
To organise events and services to the interest of its members;
To foster and grow the student community of rhythm game players within UNSW;
To promote a diverse range of rhythm games and rhythm game subgenres to the student community within UNSW; and
To allow members to share and develop each other’s skills in playing rhythm games.

Membership to UNSW Rhythm Games Society is FREE for both UNSW students and general members of the public.

Our online inter-uni Project SEKAI tournament, hosted alongside Monash Electronic Gaming Association Rhythm Games (MEGA RG), RhythmUTS, and AniManga / Melbourne University Esports @ UniMelb with over 80 participants in 2026.
Bringing back osu! in early 2026, we held a Battle-Royale style tournament at MegaLAN 2026 alongside other rhythm games freeplay setups.
Runa FESTA brought 6 teams of 4 – of varying skill ranges – to compete in a mini game based round robin tournament. The event was held at KOKO Amusement Town Hall in June 2026.
Our first ever maimai tournament held in early 2025 at Fortress Sydney with 32 competitors in 2 brackets. With over 50 people turning up on the day, this set the groundwork for all our future arcade tournaments.
A smaller, 16-player double-elimination Maimai tournament held in preparation for RGScramble DX. With over 30 people tuning in live and many more online, this tournament had a fantastic turnout for its size
We hosted our first ever Chunithm Tournament at KOKO Amusement Town Hall on June 15th 2025. This brought together 16 participants in a competitive, double elimination tourney.
Our largest in-person tournament ever, hosted over 2 days at KOKO Amusement Town Hall at the end of 2025. Over 100 people total, 48 Participants in the most successful maimai tourney hosted in Sydney.
